All the world's a stage and we are but mearly players.
-William Shakespere
I think Willy might be on to something. If all the world were a stage who would you play? The Hero? Comedic relief? Perhaps you'd be person #2 in restaurant.
I think my role would be set builder. Not because I like to build stuff but because it's integral to the play and no one sees who does it. No one really cares (with the exception of the director). The academy awards presented set designers their awards right next to their seat so that they wouldn't have to take the cameras off the beautiful people for more than 15 seconds and spend time waiting for them to get to the stage.
So, how about it? If all the world were a stage..who are you? who who; who who I REALLY WANNA KNOW! (dang CSI and the Who for that song)

Hmmm, dear, you've asked the essential question of my life. Who am I? I'll have to think on it and get back to you. Perhaps a better question would be, who haven't I been yet? :-)
ReplyDeleteI would probably be the anal stage manager...because I would be telling everyone what they were doing wrong. Like now...
ReplyDeleteThe actual quote is from the play As You Like It and goes like this:
"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts."
What I think that's really cool is that he's right...in our lives we play so many different parts. We continue to grow and change as we learn more about ourselves and about the God we serve. And as we live our lives out on this mortal coil, we take on different roles.
As for what role I think I would actually be...probably Wingman #2/Comic Relief. :) Great question!
i would probably be the assistant producer. or "the woman behind the man." i like to be behind the scenes and give advice and/or support when asked or needed.
ReplyDeleteThe Director, definitely. Managing the details, putting out fires, offering encouragement to get your lines right, and doin' it with style, under budget and on time, baby. ACTION!
ReplyDeleteI think I would like to be an extra--I picture myself as a young woman (or probably with how young I look, a girl)in old-timey clothes holding a little bunch of flowers, talking to another young woman beside me, while the main action is going on in front of me. I think it would be cool to be an extra--maybe even an extra with one line to say. Enough to say that I was actually in the play, but not too much so that there is pressure to do really well. Maybe that just means I'm lazy, who knows? ;)
ReplyDeleteI think I would be the leading lady, but I hope I'm not too much of a diva (anymore. :-))
ReplyDeleteProducer... I want to call the shots when decisions involves money.
ReplyDeleteI'd totally be Statler and Waldorf. Remember those old guys from the Muppet Show? The ones in the balcony who would heckle Kermit and company throughout the episode? That is essentually my place in life.
