Jake the "Tommy Boy Maddox" Plummer

Ok, before I begin let me first say that I saw absolutely none of the game. Well, let me restate that. I saw approximately the final 2 minutes of the game. The only reason why I saw what I saw was because I happened to check the score and saw the headline "Cutler knocked out of game with head injury" and the score tied at 23 all in OT.

I turn on the game and Cutler is playing. I said to myself, self, if Cutler is playing that means 1 of 2 things. Either the head injury wasn't that serious, or Plummer really screwed up. Screwed up so much that he was willing to put in a guy with a head injury (who's a rookie and doesn't know any better).

After the game I check the stats. Plummer: 0-2; 1 INT.

So if someone saw the game could they please explain something to me? Did he actually complete 50% of his passes (which would be pretty high) or just 33%?

All I could think of when I saw that stat line was when Tommy Maddox took over a game for the Steelers last season because Roethlisberger got hurt. He ended up fumbling on a snap and losing the game..

  1. I hate to say this, but I'm kind of glad denver lost. Not cause I don't like them, but it means that the steelers actually knocked cincy out of the playoffs, and that makes me happy.

Of course, it makes me terribly sad that given all the games final scores, if the steelers beat baltimore last week, we'd be in the playoffs.

    Stupid baltimore.

  2. I didn't see all of the game and pretty much missed the part that Plummer was out for. The Eagles game was originally scheduled to be broadcast Sunday afternoon, but they switched over to the Broncos game during the second half. Unfortunately, San Fran was already well in to their comeback when they switched. I did see all of OT, and thought it was going to be the first tied game in a long time.

Wish I could explain more, but Cutler (I promise you) will get better. Remember he was a senior at Vanderbilt before Vanderbilt even started to show up. He just needs a little time.

P.S. Sorry about Darrent. Such a horrible tragedy!
